Resumen Este artículo presenta un análisis de la influencia del estrés y la fatiga emocional en el desempeño de la profesión enfermera. Para ello se realizó una revisión sistemática de 13 artículos que abarcan el periodo 2000-2016. Del análisis de los artículos, se encontró la presencia de ambos factores en el ámbito laboral de la enfermera. Los artículos analizados desarrollan la esfera del estrés y la fatiga emocional en el ámbito del síndrome de burnout, siendo utilizada en todos los casos menos en uno, la escala de Maslach burnout inventory. A su vez los artículos analizados, muestran la relación de ambos factores con la exposición a hechos desagradables por parte de las enfermeras, a las relaciones interprofesionales de los miembros de los equipos sanitarios, al déficit de recursos y a las condiciones específicas del mundo de la enfermería. A systematic review) This article shows an analysis of the influence of stress and emotional fatigue on the performance of the nursing profession. A systematic literature review of 13 articles covering the period 2002-2016 was performed. From the analysis of the articles, we found the presence of both factors in the nurse's work environment. The articles analyzed develop the field of stress and emotional fatigue in the field of burnout syndrome, being used in all cases, measured in a Maslach burnout inventory scale. In the same time, the analyzed articles show the relationship of both factors with the exposure to unpleasant facts on the part of the nurses, the interprofessional relations in the teams, the deficit of resources and the specific conditions in the nursing work.
