Aplicación de la teoría de la comodidad en el baño en cama

Resumen

El concepto de comodidad es reconocido como elemento fundamental para la conservación y recuperación de la salud, este artículo es el resultado de la aplicación de la teoría de la comodidad en la práctica asistencial, buscando una reflexión del concepto y su utilidad en los pacientes hospitalizados. La Teoría se aplicó al reconocer la relación que existe entre el baño en cama como actividad de cuidado y la comodidad, para optimizar los resultados del cuidado. Método: se realizó un proyecto de gestión, para promover la comodidad durante el baño en cama y aplicar los conocimientos frente a la teoría, con profesionales de enfermería de un servicio de hospitalización. El proyecto se planeó, ejecuto y evaluó, durante agosto a octubre del 2010. La planeación se realizó mediante visitas de campo, aplicando el marco lógico, y los resultados, muestran un desconocimiento del referente teórico que fundamenta la práctica en este concepto.

Abstract (Application of the theory of comfort in the bath in bed)

The Comfort concept is very well known as a key element in keeping and recovering health. This article is the result of our experience applying the comfort Theory at the bedside care, reflecting on its important role on the care delivered to hospitalized patients. This Theory was specifically applied to bathing as a nursing activity that provides care and comfort. Methodology: a project was developed, in order to promote comfort to bedridden patients that required assistance on bathing and the comfort theory was applied by a group of nurses in a hospital wing. The project was planned, performed and evaluated from August to October 2010. Planning was done through visits to the hospital wing, applying a logical approach and the results showed lack of knowledge related to the fundamentals of The Comfort theory and its practice.
