Resumen

El acoso laboral está presente en las organizaciones sanitarias al igual que en otros contextos profesionales. Su gravedad y prevalencia hace que sea un fenómeno que ha captado el interés de los investigadores en las últimas décadas. En este artículo se presentan las explicaciones conceptuales que se ha dado al origen del proceso en el contexto de la enfermería y se discute la connotación negativa que conlleva hacia nuestro grupo profesional. Se invita a gestores y profesionales de enfermería en general a reflexionar sobre su papel en la prevención e intervención sobre las conductas negativas y el acoso psicológico en enfermería.

Abstract (Workplace bullying in nursing. A review of theoretical explanations and reflections for managers)

Workplace bullying is present in health care organizations as well as in other professional contexts. Its severity and prevalence has caused this phenomenon to capture the interest of researchers over the last few decades. This article presents some conceptual explanations given for the origin of this process within the context of nursing and a discussion on its negative connotations for our professional group. Nursing managers and professionals in general are invited to reflect on their role in preventing and intervening against negative contacts and psychological bullying in nursing.
