En los últimos diez años ha habido un creciente interés por la salud física de los pacientes que sufren enfermedades mentales (Tosh y col., 2014), reconociéndose que tienen un mayor riesgo de sufrir problemas de salud general por diversas razones: hábitos de vida, mala nutrición y los cambios en el metabolismo inducidos por la propia enfermedad y por algunos fármacos (García-García y col., 2009; Bobes-García y col., 2012).
