Resumen Se describe el estudio de caso de un receptor de autocuidado con transposición de grandes arterias (TGA) sustentado con la teoría del Déficit de Autocuidado (DA) de Dorothea Orem, lo que permite relacionar la teoría con la práctica de la disciplina de enfermería. Las variables del estudio de caso son los requisitos de autocuidado, desarrollo y desviación de la salud identificando el déficit y capacidades de autocuidado con la aplicación metodológica del proceso de atención de enfermería (PAE). Está realizado en dos tiempos: primero en el postoperatorio inmediato y segundo en la hospitalización y el egreso. En cada tiempo se valoraron las variables identificándose el déficit de autocuidado y las capacidades, se activó la agencia de enfermería y se planearon los cuidados, satisfaciendo las respuestas humanas que se presentaron ante una desviación de la salud que alteraron la totalidad de la persona hasta el egreso del hospital a su domicilio con un plan de alta. El objetivo del presente estudio de caso es identificar el estado de salud del agente de autocuidado, los problemas reales y potenciales, elaborar diagnósticos de enfermería a través de las etiquetas de la North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), establecer planes para atender y satisfacer las necesidades humanas y determinar las intervenciones específicas de enfermería para cubrir dichas necesidades. Abstract The study of case of a receiver of self medication with transposition of great arteries (TGA) sustained with the theory of the Deficit of Self medication (IT GIVES) of Dorothea Orem is described, which allows to relate the theory to the practice of the infirmary discipline. The variables of the case study are the requirements of self medication, development and deviation of the health identifying the deficit and capacities of self medication with the methodologic application of the process of infirmary attention (PAE). It is realised in two times: first in post-operative immediate and second moment in the hospitalization and debit. In every time the variables were valued identifying itself the deficit of self medication and the capacities, activated the infirmary agency and the cares were planned, satisfying the human answers that appeared before a deviation of the health which they alter the totality of the person until the debit from the hospital to his address with a discharge plan. The objective of the present study of case is to identify the state of health of the self medication agent, the real and potential problems of health, to establish diagnoses of infirmary through the labels of North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), to establish plans to take care of and to satisfy the human needs and to determine the specific interventions of infirmary to cover these needs.
