What is Index de Enfermería

Index de Enfermería digital edition is the electronic version of the journal Index de Enfermería. Index de Enfermería is quarterly published and is distributed among main heath assistance and research centres, universities, nursing schools, scientific societies and professional, mainly in Spain and Latin America.

The digital edition of Index de Enfermería contains a selection of articles that have been translated into English to easier the access of the international scientific community (see summary of English articles).

Index de Enfermería is the only bibliographic nursing magazine of the Spanish speaking space that combines research work in the fields of humanities and health care. It publishes the work of Spanish health researchers, what allows professionals to be in contact with the latest scientific production.

Index de Enfermería as a scientific journal includes a section dedicated to innovations in the field of nursing: originals, checking, editorials, letters to the director, research methodology, history of nursing, instrument for care, etc., (see description of regulations for authors).

Index de Enfermería is a project open to participation, collaboration and able to accept any sort of contribution that can introduce new breakthrough in the field of nursing and health care.

The digital edition of Index de Enfermería has introduced several innovations:

-It includes articles in a bilingual format, either because they were written in a different language than Spanish or because they have been translated into English due to their interest for the scientific community and in order to extend the impact of these articles at an international level.
-Index includes a summary of the biography of the authors (when authors give it) in order to promote the scientific exchange among researchers.
-Index includes a search tool for articles based on categories such as section, subject and author.
-Index informs about the citation patters that appear on the articles published on the digital or printed format.
