Del laberinto a la luz. El proceso de cambio que viven las mujeres en una experiencia conyugal violenta

Resumen

Tipo de estudio cualitativo sobre la violencia doméstica, que basada en la teoría fundada, pretende comprender cómo percibe la mujer este fenómeno y explora las condiciones que la llevan a permanecer o dejar la situación de maltrato.
Sujetos y método: se entrevistan en profundidad 30 mujeres que se sienten violentadas por su compañero.
Resultados principales: El análisis muestra un proceso de cambio vivido por las mujeres en cuatro etapas: no tener en cuenta, darse cuenta, encontrarse a sí misma y salir adelante sola. En la primera etapa permanecen en la situación violenta al predominar en ellas una estructura moral rígida tradicional que guía el cumplimiento de sus deberes familiares y matrimoniales. En las siguientes flexibilizan los valores morales, se autoreconocen, se valoran y se preparan para salir una que vez tienen la convicción de que la situación no va a cambiar.
Conclusión: Estos hallazgos muestran cómo la violencia doméstica continúa siendo un grave problema con profundo arraigo cultural y crítico para las mujeres, en cuanto afecta su calidad de vida.  

Abstract (Out of the labyrinth into the light. Change process undergone by woman living a violente marital experience)

Qualitative study about domestic violence, that based on the justified theory, tries to understand the way women look at it and it also examines the conditions that make them to leave or to live involved in a situation of mistreatment.
Sample and methods: 30 women that feel threatened by their partners are interviewed in depth.
Main results: the analysis shows a changing process experienced by women in four stages: not taking the situation into account, being aware of the situation, finding themselves and getting through it. During the first stage, they still experience a violence situation because of their traditional and strict way of thinking that makes them carry out their familial and marital duties. In the next stage, their moral values are not that strict and women prepare to get over the situation once they are convinced that the situation is not going to change.
Findings: domestic violence is still a serious and very deep-rooted problem that affects women's quality of life.
