Resumen

El delirium es percibido por los profesionales sanitarios como un acontecimiento frecuente en los pacientes ingresados en cuidados críticos. Es fundamental que enfermería conozca las medias de prevención. Objetivos. Evaluar la efectividad de las intervenciones de enfermería para la detención y prevención del delirium en pacientes ingresados en cuidados críticos. Metodología. Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en las bases de datos Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane, Cuiden, Dialnet y Scopus desde el año 2008 al 2015. Que cumplían los criterios de inclusión: >18 años y artículos originales relacionados con la prevención del delirium. Resultados. Se obtuvieron 424 artículos de los cuáles se seleccionaron 17, que muestran la importancia de las intervenciones de enfermería para la prevención del delirium. Conclusión: Es necesario protocolos de enfermería para la detección, prevención y tratamiento del delirium.

Abstract (Prevention of delirium in patients in critical care units)

Delirium is perceived by clinicians as a frequent event un patients admitted to critical care. It is essential that nurses know the means of prevention. Aims. Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions for the detection and prevention of delirium in patients in critical care. Methodology. A literature search was conducted in Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane, Dialnet and Scopus data from 2008 to 2015 that met the inclusion criteria: >18 age and original articles related to the prevention of delirium. Results. 424 articles of which 20 were selected that show the importance of nursing interventions to prevent delirium were obtained. Conclusion. It is necessary nursing protocols for the detection, prevention and treatment of delirium.
