Códigos de barras bidimensionales. Aplicaciones y usos del código QR en el área sanitaria: una revisión bibliográfica

Resumen

El objetivo principal de este artículo es conocer la utilización del código QR en el mundo sanitario a través de los estudios científicos publicados en la literatura reciente y valorar las ventajas del uso de este tipo de códigos en sanidad.
Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica en las bases de datos: PubMed, Scielo, Dialnet, Cinahl, Ibecs y JBI Connect. Descriptores: QR code, código QR, QR, quick response code y código de respuesta rápida. Límite temporal: 10 años.
317 artículos recuperados. 21 cumplen los criterios de inclusión (6.7%). Incremento de estudios publicados en los últimos 3 años (52% en el último año). 53% centrados en el ámbito asistencial, 33% ámbito informativo y 14% ámbito educacional.
Las características del código QR lo convierten en una herramienta útil para los profesionales, tanto en el ámbito asistencial como en el educativo y el informativo. Además, permiten la presentación de la información en múltiples formatos digitales.

Abstract (Two-dimensional barcodes. Uses and applications of the QR code in the sanitary area: A literature review)

The aim of this paper is to understand the use of the QR code in the health world through scientific studies published in recent literature and assess the benefits of using this type of codes in health.
Literature review in databases: PubMed, Scielo, Dialnet, Cinahl, Ibecs y JBI Connect. Descriptors: QR code, código QR, QR, quick response code and código de respuesta rápida. Time limit of 10 years.
317 articles recovered. 21 met the inclusion criteria (6.7%). Increase in the number of studies published in the last 3 years (52% in the last year). 53% focused on the health care setting, 33% in the field of information and 14% in health education.
QR code characteristics make it a useful tool for professionals both in the health care setting and in the educational and informative. They also allow the presentation of information in a lot of digital formats.
