Resumen Objetivo principal: Describir el marco conceptual en el que se fundamentan los cuidados de enfermería en el proceso de muerte a través de una revisión de la literatura. Metodología: Se ha realizado una revisión de artículos, mediante los términos "attitude to death" y "nursing" en las principales bases de datos científicas (PubMed, Web of Science, Medline y Biblioteca Cochrane) y con una antigüedad máxima de 5 años (2013-2017). Resultados: 17 artículos cumplieron los criterios de elegibilidad. De ellos, resaltamos 7 temas que tienen que ver con los cuidados de enfermería al final de la vida y que son las experiencias sensoriales, la ética, la religiosidad/espiritualidad, la educación, el tipo de patología y lugar de trabajo, la pediatría y la sedación paliativa. Conclusión principal: Enfermería dentro del equipo multidisciplinar, juega un papel importante por la importancia de las competencias que representa en situaciones terminales. Abstract (The death process and its conceptual development in nursing care) Main objective: To describe the conceptual framework on which nursing care is based on the death process, through a review of current literature. Methodology: A review of articles was done using the terms "attitude to death" and "nursing" in the main scientific databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Medline and Cochrane Library) with a maximum of 5 years (2013-2017). Results: 17 articles met the eligibility criteria. Of these, we highlight 6 themes that have to do with nursing care at the end of life and that are sensory experiences, ethics, religiosity / spirituality, education, type of pathology and workplace and palliative sedation. Main conclusion: Nursing within the multidisciplinary team, plays an important role because of the importance of the competencies it represents in terminal situations.
