Resumen Objetivo: Describir, para llegar a un diagnóstico, el estado de la producción científica sobre ética y enfermería en español dentro del Espacio Científico Iberoamericano. Diseño: Estudio bibliométrico. Fuente de datos: BDB CUIDEN. Estrategia de búsqueda: Artículos de ética, en español, con la palabra clave ética y que contuvieran el término enfermería en algún campo de texto. Variables e indicadores: Número de trabajos. Año de publicación. Distribución cronológica. Revistas fuente. Número de trabajos por revista. Tipo de artículo. Distribución por tipo de artículo. Autoría. Número de autores. Autores por trabajo y colaboración. Productividad. Temática. Áreas más relevantes según distribución de frecuencia de palabras clave. Resultados: Se seleccionaron 251 artículos, todos posteriores a 1985. El índice de colaboración fue de 2. No existen grandes productores, predominando los productores ocasionales. No se hallaron líneas, temáticas o grupos de investigación consolidados. Las revistas generales grandes productoras son las que tienden a acumular mayor número de trabajos. Conclusión: El área especializada de ética y enfermería en español presenta un perfil típico de marginalidad dentro del contexto de la producción científica global de enfermería. The state of the question in terms of scientific production) Objective: To describe, in order to arrive at a diagnose, the state of the scientific production on ethics and nursing in Spanish within the Latin American Scientific Space. Design: Bibliometric study. Source of data: BDB CUIDEN. Strategy search: Articles of ethics, in Spanish, with the ethical key word and that contained the term nursing in some text field. Variables and indicators: Number of works. Year of publication. Chronological distribution. Magazines source. Number of works by magazine. Type of article. Distribution by type of article. Responsibility. Number of authors. Authors by work and collaboration. Productivity. Thematic. More excellent areas according to frequency allocation of key words. Results: 251 articles, all later ones to 1985 were selected. The collaboration index was of 2. Great producers do not exist, predominating the occasional producers. Were not lines, thematic or consolidated groups of investigation. The general magazines great producers are those that tend to accumulate greater number of works. Conclusions: The specialized area of ethics and infirmary in Spanish presents/displays a typical profile of marginality within the context of the global scientific production of nursing.
